Jay Gouge
18th President of Auburn University
Gamma Sigma '69
Letter from the President:
The Gamma Sigma chapter of Sigma Chi has established a phenomenal reputation at Auburn University since its conception in 1934.
I believe the members of our chapter truly represent the ideals by which Sigma Chi was established. The success that our student
leaders have achieved is a testament to the noble purposes and designs of our Fraternity. Over 80% of our Chapter is involved in
other organizations throughout the University, including the Student Government Association, Student Alumni Association, Impact,
Project Uplift and Student Councils within their respective colleges. The concerns of our young men extend far beyond the
confines of campus life. Community service and philanthropic activities are integral components of our Fraternity. Our annual
philanthropy, Derby Days, has raised over $47,000 for Children’s Miracle Network since 2007. Derby Days remains to be the oldest
and most well respected philanthropy in all of Greek life, and we look forward to the future and further growth in our relationship
with CMN. We enjoy reaching out to those in our community, and we believe that it unites us as a Chapter as well. The faith,
leadership and scholastic achievement of our young men define our Fraternity, and truly separates us from other Greek organizations.
I take great pride in the reputation we have built and I look forward to the future growth of our Fraternity. If you are new to
Auburn as a student or a parent and would like to learn more about Sigma Chi, please feel free to contact with me,
War Eagle,
J. Garner Lee, Sigma Chi President
